LEARN MORE ABOUT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Instructor training : a long journey of learning

Working with Oxygène means taking control of both your skis and future in one hand. Joining a close-knit team and feeling comfortable in your ‘ski’ boots from day one is part of the ethos of the company.

Oxygène provides an opportunity for all young instructors to pursue their passion for skiing without any limit!

The Ski Academy

An ideal training programme young people have been waiting for!

Oxygène’s Ski Academy is the go-to training hub for anyone motivated to become an instructor!
Established in 2016, the coach’s goal is to guide all trainees down the right slope for their ski instructor certification and to integrate them into one of the Oxygène Ski Schools.

The programme? Focus is on improving the technical skills of trainees, preparing them physically and mentally, plus equipping them with the autonomy and versatility needed for their future careers.

The Ski Academy provides a tailor-made training experience, including in-resort accommodation, ski gear, lift passes and professional insurance. This ensures all trainees have every chance to succeed. Once in, they can join the team of instructors and begin learning how to teach, while at the same time continuing their ski training for their final exams. Teaching is a great way to finance their training too, right up until the moment they gain their certification.

The path of the top

An ambitious generation with Chloé Périgeat

Well-trained instructors are passionate and fulfilled. It’s not uncommon for new talents to be given responsibilities, just like Chloé who joined the La Plagne team last winter.
Here she shares her experience with the Ski Academy group she mentored last winter, helping prepare them for their first technical entrance exam to becoming a ski and snowboard instructor.

Hi Chloé! What a journey in such a short time!
Can you tell us about your first season with Oxygène?

When I arrived in La Plagne, I immediately felt a different vibe. Having worked with ESF in the past, I was curious to see what other approaches were out there. Working alongside instructors who’ve trained in other countries was enriching and allowed me to form genuine connections. Every instructor here has an intense passion for their job, and I absolutely love this atmosphere! I had the opportunity to bring my own perspective to training, combining my love of skiing with my personal style.

How did Oxygène entrust you with a leadership role so quickly?

When I applied to become an instructor with Oxygène, I told them about my past experience in high-level alpine skiing in the FIS (International Ski Federation) circuit. I quickly got a call from the director of La Plagne, who then integrated me into the Ski Academy coaching team.

Having Oxygène’s full trust to lead the training of their future instructors was a thrilling challenge and a great sign of confidence in me, which I deeply appreciate. I had the freedom to implement everything I envisioned. We did a great job this winter, making significant technical progress and even one of my trainees passed their technical exam!

What do you think of the role you’ve been given at Oxygène?

I loved that Oxygène offered me such an important role as soon as I arrived. I wasn’t expecting it at all, and I didn’t know what I was getting into, but I went for it and I don’t regret anything! I’m honoured by the trust they’ve placed in me and I can’t wait to start again.

Chloé’s rapid rise is just one example of many! It’s one of the strengths of Oxygène, an organisation committed to the success of young people and ready to offer ambitious individuals the career opportunities they deserve.

So, if you’re ready to take the plunge, don’t hesitate—join us!
