Travelling to a ski resort is not always plain sailing. We’ve all been there. The preparation, the packing, the early-morning travel, long transfers across winding roads, tired children and equally fatigued parents can result in a truly nerve-heightening arrival day. It’s hardly surprising then that once you actually arrive at your accommodation, the last thing you’ll want to do is head out again to the rental shops to stand in line to ensure your whole party is fitted with skis and boots in time for their first morning on the slopes. Thankfully, there is another option. Chalet-fitting services let the skis come to you.
HOW IT WORKS
Book over the phone or online with Oxygène, choose the style of skis or snowboard and boots that you require and provide details of boot size, weight, height and ability for all of the members in your party. Simply let them know where you’re staying and what time you’re expecting to arrive in resort, and they’ll take care of the rest so you can kick your feet up, sit back and finally relax. The chalet-fitting crew will provide you with an estimated fitting time, but – just in case of flight delays, changes in your plans or any unforeseen circumstances – they remain completely flexible and at your service.
The team will arrive at your accommodation, their new vans/mobile ski shops packed to the gills with everything they need to ensure you’re left completely fitted and raring to go. At all times, the vans are stocked with alternative sizes for your specific equipment requests as well as a wide-range of skis, boards, boots and poles in a variety of adult’s and child’s sizes. So, should a member of your party have a change of heart regarding what they’d like to hire, or if someone has neglected to hire anything at all, the fitters waste no time by providing on-the-spot solutions.
Similarly, should you encounter a problem during your stay, the crew are more than happy to return throughout the week upon request. Boots uncomfortable after the first day? No problem. They’ll return, refit and exchange. Fancy switching to snowboarding? No worries. They’ll swap your kit. Decide you actually don’t like what you have and want to change back? Don’t worry, they’ll sort that too. Basically, if you have any problems or requests, simply call the team and they’ll be with you in no time.
