CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Cross-country skiing, also known as Nordic skiing, is a fantastic way to get away from the hustle and bustle of resort into the calm of the forest. Choose between a classic cross-country style to glide through the forest in the tramlines at your own pace or the more energetic skating style for a full cardiovascular workout. We have instructors fully qualified to teach cross-country skiing. Beginners or more advanced cross-country skiers welcome!
PRIVATE OR GROUP SESSIONS
New to cross-country skiing? No problem. Why not learn the basics and discover insider tips and tricks by picking a private lesson with one of our highly-experienced instructors. More advanced? Grab your gear, meet new friends and join a group session for a sociable ski into the forest.
CROSS-COUNTRY EQUIPMENT RENTAL
For cross-country skiing you will need a pair of cross-country skis, boots and poles. We can advise you where to hire equipment in resort if you don’t have your own. Our own ski equipment rental shops in La Plagne and Val d’Isère are fully stocked for all of your cross-country needs.

TWO STYLES: CLASSIC & SKATING
Nordic skiing is practised in two distinct styles. Classic style involves putting your skis in the tramlines. These are created on the trails for the purpose of pushing yourself along using your poles whilst keeping your skis straight and parallel. This style is an ideal introduction for beginners. It offers you aerobic exercise and can be practised as energetically as you wish. The skating style is more difficult to master and does, as they name suggests, involve pushing your skis out to each side to gain forward momentum. This is best practised by those with some cross-country experience already and is more energetic in nature.
